The Carmal Matha Shanthi Bhavan run under the auspices of the Carmal Matha Trust is an orphanage and has been associated with the state and central governments under the Ministry of HR Development for rehabilitation of street children. The Shanthi Bhavan also participates in a joint venture with the Center for the Environment and Development under the Ministry of Environment, Government of India.

The Shanthi  Bhavan has also submitted a project to Kerala State AIDS Control Society and TAHA (Trafficking and HIV AIDS) in association with UNDP (United Nations Development Programme). Wayanad being one of the educationally and economically backward places in Kerala is also the homeland of the ancient tribes of Kattunayakkans and Cholanayakkans. Carmal Matha Shanthi Bhavan along with the rehabilitation of street kids is also focusing on various tribal development activities.

Our malnourished children are in dire need of immediate care and attention in all aspects of life. At present, we are taking strenuous efforts to strengthen them. Come, help us, and join us in our endeavor to rehabilitate these children!!
